If you're thinking of having jewellery valued here, DON'T!!! I took a quantity of jewellery into the shop to be valued for insurance purposes and it was a total waste of time and a lot of money. The jeweller doesn't seem to know the difference between different carats of gold ( 9ct gold was valued at 18ct in some cases and vice versa) or colours of stones (emeralds which are green were valued as sapphires which are blue etc) and garnets valued as rubies which I do agree are a little more difficult to differentiate between to the untrained eye but a qualified jeweller should know the difference. Also the valuation seemed very high in certain cases eg a pair of gold hoops bought from Argos 3 years ago for 60 are now amazingly worth 420! Having said that, the lady who works behind the counter is very nice and tried to be helpful, but I won't be setting foot in that shop again and have informed Trading Standards of my experience.
